Allison Giudicelli, Cooper Elementary ParaeducatorWe proudly announce that Allison Giudicelli is our 2023-2024 Classified Employee of the Year at Cooper Elementary School. 

Allison serves as a paraeducator in our Kindergarten TAP Classroom. Her class has been recognized multiple times with district awards for excellence, primarily due to Allison's commitment to focus on program-specific protocols with fidelity and demonstrating a solid understanding of student Individualized Education Plans. 

Allison stands out for her commitment to doing whatever it takes to support our students. She approaches each day with a positive and kind demeanor that is genuinely welcoming to both students and colleagues alike. Her infectious smile and calm demeanor create a warm and inclusive atmosphere that contributes to the overall well-being of our school community. 

As a paraeducator on our special education team, Allison has consistently proven to be a valued member of our Cooper family. She is calm and composed even in the face of challenging behaviors, providing the support and strategies our students need with care and kindness. Her intentional approach to meeting our students' diverse needs has profoundly impacted their social, emotional, and academic development.

Allison is a support system for students and a true leader in the classroom, supporting lesson preparation and design while masterfully differentiating lessons in the moment to respond to student needs. She takes the initiative to create a positive and inclusive learning environment, fostering a sense of belonging for every student.

Furthermore, Allison takes the initiative to mentor new paraeducators (sometimes even teachers and administrators) when appropriate to respond to student needs, generously sharing her knowledge and experience. She goes above and beyond to ensure new colleagues feel supported and equipped to navigate their roles effectively. 

Her mentorship extends beyond the classroom, as she is often called upon to support colleagues when there is a prolonged behavioral situation, using her knowledge and instincts to help the student and provide a visual example of effective de-escalation. Allison also welcomes coaching, attends professional development sessions, and immediately translates feedback into action.

We are fortunate to have Allison on our team. She embodies the qualities and characteristics deserving of Classified Employee of the Year. Her commitment, positive attitude, and leadership within our school community make her an invaluable asset.
